Our Wind Phones

Thoughtfully Designed. Handcrafted with Purpose.

Every Wind Phone is more than a structure—it's a place where memories are shared, tears are shed, and love continues.

That's why we partnered with Bluestone Woodwork in Rockville, Maryland, to thoughtfully design and handcraft each Wind Phone with both beauty and durability in mind. Built using quality exterior-grade materials and meticulous craftsmanship, our Wind Phones are designed to withstand the elements while providing a welcoming place for reflection for years to come.

Inspired by the Original Wind Phone

One of the most distinctive features of our design is the circular cutout in the back panel. This intentional detail is a subtle nod to the Japanese origins of the Wind Phone, first created by Itaru Sasaki in Otsuchi, Japan. The circular opening symbolizes connection, continuity, and the invisible bonds that endure long after a loved one is gone. It also allows natural light to pass through the structure, creating a peaceful and inviting space.

Built to Last

Every Wind Phone is handcrafted by Bluestone Woodwork using durable exterior-grade birch plywood and assembled with weather-resistant hardware for long-term outdoor use. Each structure receives a protective clear finish to help preserve its natural beauty while standing up to changing seasons.

The result is a Wind Phone that is both functional and timeless—a place that communities can cherish for generations.

A Place That Belongs to the Community

Each Wind Phone is designed to become part of its surroundings. Whether left with its natural wood finish or personalized through artwork created by local artists, students, or community members, every installation becomes a unique reflection of the people and stories it represents.

No two Wind Phones are exactly alike, but each one shares the same purpose: to offer a quiet place for remembrance, reflection, and connection.
