Our Initiatives
Bring a Windphone to Life
Our first Wind Phone will be installed at Reflection Park , the first all-natural burial ground in Silver Spring, Maryland. This is just the beginning. Our vision is to bring Wind Phones to parks, gardens, and natural spaces across the country, creating accessible spaces for reflection and healing wherever people need them.
How your support helps:

-
Cover the design and production of this first Wind Phone, each carefully crafted in Rockville, MD by Bluestone Woodwork.
-
Fund startup costs so we can expand the project to other communities.
-
Support the illustration and production of a children’s book on grief, helping young readers understand and process loss in a gentle way.
Our goal:
$2,500.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring this vision to life.

Help Young Readers Understand Grief
As part of our mission to support healing and connection, The Little Wind Phone Project is developing a children’s book to help young readers gently understand and process grief.

Inspired by the spirit of the Wind Phone—a place where words to the departed can still be spoken—this illustrated story will offer comfort, normalize emotional responses to loss, and encourage open conversations between children and their caregivers.

Created in collaboration with grief counselors and educators, the book will serve as a meaningful resource for families, schools, and therapists—helping children know that it’s okay to feel, remember, and continue loving, even after goodbye.
